Tuesday, March 3, 2026: Primary Election
This is the date when the Democratic Party and the Republican Party hold elections in Texas to choose the candidates who will appear on the ballot in the November 3, 2026, Uniform Election. The winners of the Primary Elections do not take office following these elections. For those races that did not have a winner, the two candidates who received the most votes cast will run against each other in the May 26th Primary Runoff Election.

Saturday, May 2, 2026: Local Election
This is the date when many local governmental entities, such as cities and school districts, hold nonpartisan elections.
Tuesday, May 26, 2026: Primary Runoff Election
For races in which there was no winner in the March 3, 2026, Primary Election, there will be a runoff election on May 26, 2026, between the two candidates who received the most votes cast in the Primary Election. The winner in these elections will be on the ballot in the November 3, 2026, General Election.
Runoff for the Local Election, if needed
For races in which there was no winner in the May 2, 2026, Local Election, there will be a runoff election between the two candidates who received the most votes cast in the Local Election.
The date for the Local Election Runoff will be updated as information becomes available.
Tuesday, November 3, 2026: General Election
This is the date when many Federal, State, and County entities, including elections for U.S. Senator, all U.S. Representatives, the Texas Governor and Lieutenant Governor, many State Senators, all State Representatives, and many other statewide and regional offices, hold partisan elections.
