CANDIDATE FORUMS
All voters who live in the City of Richardson will vote on: 
  • Richardson City Council Places 1-6 and the Mayor (Place 7).  Places 1, 3, 5, and 7 are contested. Here are the details.
  • A $46 Million bond proposal to build a new facility to replace the Civic Center, which was damaged in a fire in 2022.
All voters who live in the Collin County portion of Richardson will vote on: 
  • Plano ISD Board of Trustees Places 4, 5, and 7.  All three races are contested. Here are the details. 
  • Collin County Community College District Board of Trustees Places 1, 2, and 3.  All three races are contested. Here are the details.
All voters who live in the Dallas County portion of Richardson, or in the RISD portions of Garland and Dallas will vote on: 
  • Richardson ISD Board of Trustees Place 6 (at-large). Voters who live within the boundaries of RISD District 3 will vote on District 3 (single-member). Both races are contested. Here are the details.

All voters who live in the City of Garland will vote on: 
  • Garland City Council Districts 3, 6, 7, 8, and the Mayor.  The races for District 3 and the Mayor are contested. Here are the details.
All voters who live in the City of Dallas will vote on the: 
  • Dallas City Council Places 1-14 and the Mayor (Place 15).  All places except for Place 12 are contested races.  The Mayor is contested only by a write-in candidate. Here are the details.


* To be counted, Ballots by Mail must be postmarked by 7 p.m. on Election Day (May 6, 2023) AND received by the County Elections Office by 5 p.m. the next day (May 7, 2023). Other deadlines may apply for overseas and military ballots. Go to the Texas Secretary of State’s website for more information.

Dallas County

To view your precinct's sample ballot, go to the Voter Lookup page. Under “Check your voter status & view your personal sample ballot” fill out your information. You will then be able to view a sample ballot containing only those races you will vote on.

Collin County

Individualized sample ballots are now available on the website of the Collin County Elections Department. To view your ballot, enter your precinct number in the search box at the top of the page, then click on the highlighted precinct number.

To find your precinct number, look on your Voter Registration Card, or enter your name and birthdate on this Collin County Voter Registration Search form.
First Baptist Church Richardson (Activities Center, 1001 N Central Expy, Richardson, TX 75080) is the only early voting location in the City of Richardson for the May 6, 2023 local election.

First Baptist Church Richardson is an early voting location for Richardson residents from BOTH Dallas County and Collin County.

Richardson voters who live in Collin County may vote early at First Baptist Church or at any Collin County early voting location.

Richardson voters who live in Dallas County may vote early at First Baptist Church or at any Dallas County early voting location.

First Baptist Church Richardson (Activities Center, 1001 N Central Expy, Richardson, TX 75080) is an Election Day voting location in the City of Richardson for the May 6, 2023 local election.

First Baptist Church Richardson is an Election Day voting location for Richardson residents from BOTH Dallas County and Collin County.

Richardson voters who live in Collin County may vote on Election Day at First Baptist Church or at any Collin County early voting location.

League of Women Voters-produced Voters Guide questions and answers are now available on the VOTE411.org website.  Here, you can enter your address and view a personalized Voters Guide that includes only the races you will see on your ballot, and you can compare candidates’ qualifications and answers side-by-side.
Printed copies of the League of Women Voters of Richardson’s VOTERS GUIDE for the May 6 local election are now available.  Due to space limitations, the printed VOTERS GUIDE contains candidates’ responses to four or five questions per race.  The online VOTERS GUIDE at www.VOTE411.org contains about 20 questions.

League of Women Voters of Richardson

The League of Women Voters of Richardson sponsored two in-person candidate forums for the May 6, 2023 election.  The public was invited to submit questions both online prior to the forums and in writing at the forums.

Richardson ISD Board of Trustees District 3 and Place 6
A candidate forum featuring candidates running for RISD Board of Trustees Single-member District 3 and At-large Place 6 was held on Monday, April 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the RISD Administration Building, 420 S Greenville Ave, Richardson, TX 7508.

City of Richardson Mayor and City Council

A candidate forum featuring candidates running for Mayor and contested races for City Council (Places 1, 3, & 5) was held on Thursday, April 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Bank of America Theatre of the Eisemann Center for Performing Arts, 2351 Performance Dr, Richardson, TX 75082. This candidate forum was co-sponsored by the Richardson Chamber of Commerce.
