 March 3, 2026 Primary Election

These polling places should be in one's home neighborhood. In some precincts, both Democratic and Republican Primaries will be voting at the same location. In other precincts, the locations will vary for Republican and Democratic voters.
Check your voter registration status!
  1. Go to the Texas Secretary of State's website.
  2. Fill in your information under 'Are You Registered? and click 'Submit'
  3. To be eligible to vote, your Voter Status must be ACTIVE.
LWVR provides useful, nonpartisan election information at our website

See the League's online Voters Guide. If a voter submits her address at this link, she will then be able to print the exact races which will be on her ballot. Also, candidates' responses to questions asked by the League can be found at this site, if the candidate responded.

Our Richardson League received 1500 printed Voter Guides from LWVDallas, which we have distributed throughout Richardson at the temporary library, temporary city hall, recreation centers, and senior center.

Beyond the Bar is DFW's first and Texas's only zero-proof bottle shop and tasting room, offering an expertly curated selection of alcohol-free spirits, wines, beers and adaptogenic elixirs. They also host zero-proof events, pop-ups and mixology classes in-store and around the Metroplex.

We hope to to see you there!

League of Women Voters of Richardson
Registration Activities

The Voter Registration arm of LWVR participated in the City of Richardson’s Lunar New Year celebration.  This was a great opportunity to speak to people about the March 3rd primary election.   With such a well-attended event, we were able to distribute Voter Guides and to share information about voting locations, voting processes and, of course, register voters.

We had many people tell us they use our information and have depended on VOTE411.org for valuable nonpartisan information in past elections.  Our being out in the community and visible has made a difference. If you would like to help in future voter registration efforts, contact us at VoterReg@lwvrichardson.org.

LWVR has also been coordinating with the Dallas League to reach out at Richland College and other campuses in the Dallas College system.  Those volunteers have encountered enthusiasm about voting as well.

We are always looking for volunteers and Volunteer Deputy Registrars. (VDRs)  VDRs can register people to vote.  If you are interested in becoming a VDR, you can easily get trained in Dallas County or Collin County.  Every county has their own training procedures for becoming a Volunteer Deputy Registrar.  Once you are registered in one county, you show your certificate to other county elections offices and you don't have to re-train.  Of course, in LWVR we have volunteer opportunities for those who are not VDRs as well. You're also invited to observe or help with events to see if this is of interest to you!

For more information, email VoterReg@lwvrichardson.org.

LWVRichardson is  working diligently on Voters Guides for the upcoming City of Richardson and Richardson Independent School Board Elections on May 2, 2026.  The nonpartisan Voters Guides (both online and printed) will be available about a week before early voting begins.

LWVR will hold a forum for each of the 2 contested Richardson ISD Board of Trustees races.

We'll Review LWVR Position VII
Save the Date: April 23, 2026

LWVR's  Local Program Planning meeting was held on February 11. It was determined that, although there is no need to change our positions, we should review their language and consider revisions that would broaden their application.

We will meet for an hour once a month. The first meeting will be April 23rd on Zoom to discuss:  Position VII:  Richardson ISD and Schools in Plano ISD That Serve Richardson Students.

Our positions may be found here .

Although only LWVR members can vote to make changes to a position, we invite the larger community to attend a meeting to review our positions.  We welcome your insight in proposing updated language for our positions.  We will publish in the VOTER which position will be up for discussion the following month. Your specialized expertise and knowledge will be invaluable in this process and we hope to hear your input at one or more meetings!

Would You Like to Serve on the LWVR Board Next year?

LWVR's Nominating Committee (NomCom) is meeting to determine a slate of officers and directors to lead LWVR next fiscal year (June 1, 2026 - May 31, 2027).  Without a strong board, LWVR couldn't do any of the fabulous things that we do!

If you are interested in being on the LWVR Board, please email VoterReg@lwvrichardson.org.

Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)

CHIP and Children’s Medicaid have been well received by Texas families and these programs help to assure that our children have adequate preventative care in addition to coverage for more complex medical care.  It is much more cost effective to provide immunizations, check-ups, and early intervention in childhood illnesses than to wait for a problem to develop into an emergency.

LWVRichardson is a long-time supporter of these programs.  Members can help with an application help session:

Saturday, March 10th
9 a.m.-noon
St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church
1220 W. Belt Line Road
Richardson 75080

Families who do not have coverage through their employment such as seasonal workers, employees who work part-time, grandparents who are raising their grandchildren on a fixed income, those who are currently unemployed, and teenagers who are “on their own” are some of our neighbors who might have eligible children.  Please invite anyone you think may be interested to be with us on Feb. 14.
